Let's rewind the tape back a bit and to be more specific to 3 weeks ago, when my exchange program to Malaysia was canceled and all my plans for this summer and the next year became nugatory.
I wasn’t very upset then, I was busy with school projects, internship and personal matters. But now, when the lockdown is nearly over, and when I normally should have started preparing to going abroad, I’m starting to be frustrated; am I really going back to that school? Am I spending this year in Morocco? How about my travel plans? ......
My head is overwhelmed and burned with a lot of questions and disappointment but do I have another choice? No, all I can do is to adapt myself to the current situation.
I also know that I’m not the only one to see her plans get postponed, delayed or changed. Coronavirus has caused a loss of certainty, liberty and control over our present and future. We have experienced together new and unique things; the lockdown for months, schools closings, jobs suspension and sometimes loss.
And now, the world is gradually ending the lockdown and countries are allowed to go back to their previous lives. Is it easy? Going to school? Returning to work? Leaving the isolation and wondering around freely? Adapting your schedule to the new changes?
In order to smooth the process and to prepare for a safe and healthy come back, I’ve tried a lot of tips and I’m sharing with you what I found being efficient and easily applicable.
Diagnosis

How is your impression about coronavirus? What were the consequences on your life and your loved ones’? what did you learn during this lochdown?
I think that the first thing to do is to check yourself now:
How are you feeling towards all what happened? boredom, anger, displeasure, laziness, fear of the uncertain, loss of control…..
What have you done, learned or gained in this quarantine? learning a new language, trying new recipes, getting closer to your family.....
What did you lose? a person, job, travel vacation,.... or an exchange program like me ☹️☹️.
Try to write them down so you have an idea about your current state of mind.
I personnaly used this dashboard to visualize all of it clearly, you can download it here.
Adapt your mindset
Some countries have announced the end of the lockdown. However, that doesn't mean it's over.
It will take some time to get back to the way we lived. we still have to use sanitizers, put muzzles on and respect social distancing. It is therefore essential to be mentally prepared for this transition period to avoid disappointment and frustration.
Make a plan

Each one of us has his/her personal relationship with lockdown. For many it has been an opportunity to connect again with what really matters; spending time with family, reorganizing their life goals and priorities, improving their skills and abilities, taking care of their selves… While for others, it was terrifying because of the negative impact of corona on their lives.
In both situations, your life might have known some changes and your plans aren’t relevant at the moment. That’s why you need to adapt yourself and to work out another flexible plan that takes in consideration the coronavirus variable in order to minimize the uncertainty.
With all the the negativity we're getting from the social media and the press, I made this blog to put your mind at ease and know that there is hope to return to our previous lives. I admit that the process will be tiring, stressful and exhausting, but trust me It’s just a matter of time. Be patient and cautious and you'll see the world shine again like a 🌟.
